world constitution day
The day of 26 November is very important for every Indian. This is the historic day when the Constitution of India was officially adopted. Let us inform that on 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly (Samvidhan Diwas 2022) duly accepted the constitution. It was implemented two months later on 26 January 1950. Constitution Day is celebrated to remind us of our fundamental rights and duties. It is also called National Law Day.
The Indian Constitution is said to be the longest written constitution in the world. Many parts of it have been taken from the constitution of UK, America, Germany, Ireland, Australia, Canada and Japan, hence it is also called 'Bag of Borrowings'. The fundamental rights, duties of citizens, role of government, powers of PM, President, Governor, and CM have been mentioned in the Indian Constitution.
Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar is called the creator of the Indian Constitution. He was also the first law minister of India and the chairman of the constitution committee. On his 125th birth anniversary, it was announced to celebrate Constitution Day on 26 November in the year 2015.
